At this point I'll just bake them out of curiosity. I tried halving the recipe, since it's my 1st time making them, and I think either the meringue was not cooked enough or it didn't beat well on the mixer, since it couldn't reach it well.

The shape is almost like macaroon with the color idea of macaron.
They are two different styles of the same in a way.

If you looked at both recipes, could be what happened.

You’ll get there, you’re close. Did you pound the tray after you poured the batter? Did you let it rest for an hour before putting it in the oven? I took a cooking class at the Chopping Block and that helped.
